4 out of 5 stars It's a great buy   November 20, 2009
Cockerspaniel Lover (Willingboro, New Jersey, USA)
It is light weight for anyone to lift. It's about 7lbs. Folds down where you can store in a closet, under a bed, or any small space. My bed, a king size, sat pretty hit off the floor but the steps came about 2 inches short of the top which was great. I wouldn't recommend for a pet over 30lbs because there isn't enought room between each step to allow your pet to climb properly. I have a cockerspaniel who is 25lbs. He was slightly intimadated by the steps because I live in a ranch with no steps at all but if your pet is okay in climbing steps, I would recommend this product to you. Great for Cats too!!

4 out of 5 stars Works well but...   November 19, 2009
David R. Krueger (Huntsville, AL United States)
I got this so my 11 year old, slightly arthritic, 60 lb Siberian Husky could get up onto our bed.

First, the adhesive carpet pads that attach to the steps do not provide much traction. I replaced these pads with actual carpet scraps that I hot-glued on. Much better.

Secondly, the description says these steps support 120 lbs, but it also says this product is for small to medium sided dogs. I wouldn't use these steps with a dog bigger than mine. It's just too light weight to provide much rigidity for larger dogs and 120 lbs would be an accident waiting to happen. We use ours on carpeting contributes to the instability, so we hold the steps when the dog is actually on them.

Overall, I recommend this product if your dog isn't too big. It folds up nicely and is quick and easy to use for anyone who plans to set it up only when needed (like me).

Serves the purpose but is rather cheap materials and not as sturdy as I thought it would be. Wobbles quite a bit which make our dog hesitant to use. If I bought again I would get a ramp instead. Seller did expedite service and delivery.

4 out of 5 stars Doggie Stairs   November 15, 2009
C&C (Hawaii)
I tried another pet stairs before this one and my dog had a hard time climbing up on it. It was not wide enough and a little shaky. The solvit stairs are built, in my opinion better and it's stable enough that my chihuahuas actually climb up to my bed with no problems. They are afraid to come back down but with time, I'm sure they'll get the hang of it. The one thing I would love is if it was a little taller. The adhesive non-skid pads are great and is a confidence builder for sure. I'd recommend this product for owners of little dogs.

First in order to even get my little dog interested I had to attach the carpet pieces that were enclosed. Upon doing so the item could not be returned. My dog will not go near it. The steps are way way too shallow for any 23 pound dog to use. I had called to verify that a 23 pound dog would be able to use it and was told absolutely. So now I have a $25 item in my basement without being able to use it. Was not happy with this item.
