 Surprisingly durable with big dogs! November 21, 2009

We've had the 'Squirrel Den' for over 2 years now and our 3 big dogs still love it. The squirrels are about 7 inches long and the den is about 8" high. Our dogs are rough with toys, but these are some stongly built squirrels. We just got a 1 year old Rottie and he only managed to pull off one's ear, not the stuffing or squeaker though. Really a cute idea and good quality. There's also bees in a beehive I've seen for sale.

Our 18-month-old black lab Beau is a toy destroyer. It takes him only a couple of minutes to tear apart the toughest toy. So we monitor him closely with the Hide-A-Squirrel and after he's removed each squirrel several times and before he decides to get down to the serious business of rip and wreck, we take it away for another day. He really enjoys it.

I have a female 1 yr shepherd who adores this toy. She always has one of the squirrels in her mouth. Every time we put the squirrels back in the log she parades around with the log for a while and then spends the next few hours pulling them back out. Extra squirrels are a must!

This is the fifth set I've bought.....my dogs love it, and so do all the others we've shared with. The set I just bought was a gift for a new puppy......French Bulldog named Lexi......she loves it too. I would highly recommend it.

I bought this toy for my 35 pound puppy. I took it out of the packaging and he grabbed it from me and immediately played with it. He was able to take the squirrels out of the tree trunk easily. The squirrels are his babies now. It is a good interactive toy between us and our puppy. Surprisingly, he did not rip any of the pieces to shreds yet. He is rough on his toys but this one is holding up really well. I would recommend it to everyone.
