It's the only harness my dog cannot slip out of, but durability is a concern July 25, 2009

I bought this harness because I previously had my dog in an Easy Walk harness. However, no matter how tight I had the harness fitted or how small a size I bought he always found a way to wiggle out of it. I asked around at dog boutiques about what I could buy instead that would be harder for my dog to wiggle out of and this product was recommended. Overall I really like this product. My dog has not been able to wiggle out of it even when running and jumping. He also does not seem to mind it. It does not keep him from walking normally and when left to wear it he does not try to chew it off like other harnesses. It also looks much more attractive and fashionable than other harnesses on the market.
There are only a couple of downsides to this collar. The first is durability. I've only had it a week and one of the prongs has broken off the buckle. It still seems to secure okay and I am not tremendously concerned because the buckle is not at a point where a lot of pulling is happening. However, I am shocked that it hasn't lasted so long. The other thing worth noting is that this harness does NOT prevent pulling like some of the other harnesses on the market. It's still a great option if you want an alternative to a leash alone to avoid pulling on the dog's neck. However if pulling is a serious problem you may want to consider something else. However like I said the one harness I tried that did prevent pulling was also way too easy for my dog to get out of.
Overall this is a good harness and I'm hoping that the other prong will not break off the buckle. (However if it does I can sew so I will likely replace it.) The large fits my 20 lb cockapoo perfectly and he can wear it without wriggling out. Recommended.

I had seen and admired the Puppia harness at dog beach and dog park. It was not available through my usual pet supply sources, so I was pleased to find it on Amazon (of course!) I followed the sizing guidelines for my pekingese and ordered a large. It was a little loose at first fitting, and then quickly stretched to unuseable. I like the product, so reordered in medium. Unhappily, while the body was a much better fit, the non-adjustable head opening just didn't work on a broad-headed, wriggling teenaged peke. With just a little more research on Amazon I found the "Puppy One" harness which has an adjustable head opening -- same basic design, same comfortable fabric, just a slightly "tweaked" design to make life easier!

Ordered a large for my 50 pound golden mix. The soft portion wouldn't begin to fit over his nose. If the XL is proportional, I doubt it would fit either. The sizing is so off, and the other reviews are so positive, I wonder if I got a defective one?

The Puppia Dog harness is a light weight, washable mesh cloth harness that distributes pressure evenly across the shoulders and chest of the dog rather than in a narrow strip (as with a collar). It is excellent for walks. If used properly with a car seat-belt, I believe it can serve very satisfactorily to restrain the dog in the event of a sudden stop.

I bought these for our ancient chihuahua mixes. They both have weakened tracheas and any pulling from a collar tends to send them into coughing fits. So, this product seemed ideal with it's soft edges around the neck.
For the first few weeks they were great - comfortable for the pups and a breeze to snap on and off.
However, last week one of the snaps broke. This week the other harness snap broke. I hate to re-order as it seems likely to be a common defect throughout the line (I'm pretty sure that in this rare case, I am not the problem as I've lived three+ decades without having snap issues).
The harnesses really worked well initially, so I may try to jerry-rig something with sewing on stronger snaps or working out a button or something like that.
