For Cats not for Dogs November 11, 2009 Caroline P. Berberich (Matawan, NJ United States) This is the worst product out there for dogs. Is it safe? Yes. Can you actually use it? No. The motor is so weak it takes forever just to grind down 1 nail. The safe guard attached is a pain in he butt and the angle of the entire thing is off. If you detach the safe guard it has potential. BUT again the motor is to weak to handle a dog's nail. My friend uses it on her cats and after she was attacked the first and second time they finally sat and let her use it. Don't waste your money!
My cat didn't like it November 7, 2009 John Nunes This thing scared the hell out of my cat. Might be ok for a dog but you know how cats are. All she wanted to do is get away.
Pedipaws sends my dog running October 26, 2009 Rose DesRochers (Canada) I wouldn't say that Pedipaws was incredibly fast. It takes a long time to file 4 nails. You wouldn't want to do it all in one sitting. I recommend using it a few times a week, that's if your dog doesn't go running when you turn Pedipaws on. The loud grinding noise actually scared my shih-tzu Mya.
Should you purchase this product? Honestly, I think it depends on your dog.
Overall, I'm not impressed with it.

Not as great as advertised. October 18, 2009 A. White (Peoria, IL) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I own two dogs who absolutely despise nail clippings. When I say despise let me relate the fact that our groomer sedates them prior to clipping their nails. After viewing the commercial I was certain at last we had our answer and relieved our groomer of her task. Alas this was not the case.
For starters your animals will not sit idly by while their nails are ground down. Unless conditioned from the time they are whelped they will react poorly to this device. Secondly the device while it looks convenient is far from it. It does not grind down nails quickly and easily, on the contrary it is slow and inefficient. It takes several days with significant time invested to file them even modestly. Owning a Beagle mix and a Maltese mix it took us a week to get the lengths to even a modest level. In order to keep the nails short with pedipaws you would need to invest at minimum an hour or so every two weeks.
We have since gone back to the tried and true method of clipping once a month followed by hand filing the nails to a much blunter surface. I would not recommend the pedipaws to any pet owner, it is absolutely worthless and serves no purpose. Spend the 15 minutes struggling and clipping as opposed to the hours invested struggling using the pedipaws.
Not enough power to actually file nails October 17, 2009 Regina M. Cassady (Brownsville, MD) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this product to help maintain my dogs fast growing nails. He hates the cutters and I thought this might be less traumatic for him. He isn't skittish, so the sound of the motor was not a problem for me, but this may vary depending on the temperment of your dog. I loaded the PediPaws with fully charged brand new batteries. When I turned it on the sanding drum spun quickly and freely, but as soon as I started trying to file my dogs nails it stopped. I'd pull it away from the nail and it would spin again. I tried using less pressure against my dog's nails, but the only pressure level that would allow it to spin at all was zero. I now use an ac powered Dremel from my husbands workshop and it works beautifully.
