Product Description
The Prince of Willoughby is the book for anyone that has ever loved a dog. This delightful adult fairy tale is sure to please with insights into canine behavior, as well as some serious issues that face our canine communities. Add a touch of political satire, a bit of mystery and you will surely read this book in one sitting. It is too fun to put down. If you have ever spent one minute of the day anthropomorphizing your dog, this is the book for you.

Customer Reviews:
4 out of 5 stars The Prince of Willoughby REIGNS!   March 28, 2007
Jeannine C. Towler (Charlottesville, VA)
The Prince of Willoughby by Karen Quillen is a delightful read on various levels. For younger readers, it is an exciting canine adventure about the kidnapping of Princess Moncesca Francesca and the valiant efforts of her betrothed, Sawyer, the Prince of Willoughby, to rescue her from her unscrupulous captors, the Mahoney Gang. On a more sophisticated level, politically-astute readers will recognize a suspicious resemblance between the canine characters and certain well-known public figures such as Carl Rover, the Reverend Jim Barker, and Cane Corso Rice. Ms Quillen has created a tale filled with adventure, humor, and pathos that concludes with a plea to all to speak out against puppy mills and to respect our canine companions by providing them with the care and attention they deserve.

5 out of 5 stars What a gem!   March 19, 2007

This is a gem of a book on so many levels: humor, pathos, suspense, and just good geniune warmth! The setting of it was unexpected and truly delightful, and there are serious messages in it for all who care about dogs. I didn't want to finish it because then there would be no more of it to look forward to the next day -- now that I HAVE finished it, I am hoping there will be another book to look forward to in the future from this author.

I got home and mailed the books off to our family members especially who are dog lovers. I found the first part where Meadow came in to meet Patty Pit. Then I started to read your book. I could not put your book down. I was laughing out loud and what a wonderful story. I can't remember the last time I just couldn't put a book down. We can't wait until the next book!! Thanks for writing such a wonderful and magical book!!

I loved this book. I stayed up all night to read it and laughed more than I have laughed in a long time. I quickly became attached to the characters and could not wait to find out how it ended. This book was a nice transition from Marley and Me. If you love dogs you must read The Prince of Willoughby.
