I bought the workbook first and then discovered there was a DVD to go with it. I bought the DVD as well. I'm a visual learner but the workbook was very easy to follow and understand. I found it to be very thorough as it covers basic canine anatomy, basic massage techniques, effleurage, passive touch which is good for the hand shy dog, kneading and much more. It also covers evaluating the dog for massage. The book has plenty of pictures and ample room for note taking which I need!! Very good for the beginner as it shows you step by step basics and even covers the more advance techniques. I would also recommend this workbook for anyone in the pet business who is looking to add massage as part of their services. Overall I found this book the best out of all 4 canine massage books I bought. A little on the pricey side and that is the only reason why I am giving it 4 stars. I highly recommend this book.
