Full of revelations November 5, 2009 Marsha Vaughn (Atlanta, GA USA) I thought Suzanne Somers to be slightly ditzy until I read this. She and I are the same age and both had breast cancer at the same time in our lives. I had chemo, she passed on it. She said that if she knew then what she knows now, she never would have gotten breast cancer. After reading her book, I agree with that statement. Every 30-something woman should read this and take control of their hormone levels because they start getting get out of wack in your mid-30s. I'm going to a wellness/anti-aging doctor who is an MD now. I haven't started bio-identical hormones yet, we're still doing testing, but my daughter-in-law has and she's seeing many benefits already. She has many food and odor sensitivities and has a horrible time losing weight. She lost 15 lbs. after starting the hormones--not immediately but almost--and saw many other positives. You'll have to find a wellness/anti-aging doctor to help you. Suzanne lists many, state-by-state, in the back of her book. I bought three paper back editions for my daughters and daughter-in-law.
Goose Bumps! October 22, 2009 Colleen Messina (New York, NY USA) 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
"Breakthrough" is the first book on health that has inspired great changes in my life. From the first paragraph to the last, Suzanne Somers & the most progressive doctors in the field of anti-aging medicine, explore & discuss preventive healthcare on a whole new level. Living a long life in great health is a real possibility! I got goose bumps many times when I read the interviews because they "rang" with such truth. There were many times I got so excited that I would read out loud to my husband, amazed by the information that Suzanne shared in her book. I have made changes in my diet, I've ridded our home of toxic substances, I'm exercising more regularly, & I've made an appointment with a progressive doctor who will test my hormone levels & other factors so I will live in optimal health. I feel so passionate about my health - like I just woke up!
Another book that goes hand in hand with "Breakthrough" is Ariel & Shya Kane's Working on Yourself Doesn't Work: The 3 Simple Ideas That Will Instantaneously Transform Your Life. This is another book that "rings" with truth as the Kanes explain simple ideas that produce well-being and satisfaction in all areas of life. Suzanne Somers and Ariel & Shya Kane have the mind/body/spirit area covered. Check out these books and get some goose bumps!
Best Book By Suzanne To Date! October 18, 2009 L. Beaman (San Diego) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I don't agree with everything Suzanne has written in the past but boy does she back up her theories this time. I was impressed by her interview prowess and the depth of her knowledge while discussing anti-aging concepts with 20+ of the most cutting edge, credible, successful anti-aging doctors in the world! I could not put this book down!!! And it all makes so much sense. Although some of the protocols, treatments, and products they recommend may be out of economic reach for many, there's still so much one can do (that is practical and not cost prohibitive) to improve their health from a preventive as well as restorative approach. I really think some of my Harvard alumni, especially those in the fields of medicine and science could certainly learn a thing or two from Ms. Somers and her team of experts here. I have already begun applying some of the knowledge garnered from this book to my daily regime with every intent to incorporate these into my lifestyle. In less than 60 days, I have lost over 14 lbs., am sleeping better, have energy to exercise consistently and people have been commenting on how well I look! DON'T MISS OUT!...BUY this book and READ it!!! I am recommending it to everyone who will listen. It could add years to your life and/or to the life of someone you love!
Breakthrough: Eight Steps to Wellness October 6, 2009 Lady Carla Davis (CA USA) Suzanne Somers has certainly done her homework. This is one of the best books ever written on obtaining and maintaining good health, slowing the aging process, bioidentical hormones, understanding why some cancer occur, and how the human body works. Interviews with some of the best cutting-edge doctors are loaded with valuable knowledge. As a health practitioner, I highly recommend this unique book. It is very informative, uplifting and easy to understand. Plus, unlike many other books, the hardcover copy is easy to read with its large, dark font in the hard-cover copy. (I've not yet seen the paperback copy). This book also makes a great gift for health conscious friends or family members.
Underestimated September 2, 2009 Linda Nadler Suzanne Somers is far from the 'ditz' she played on Three's Company. The information she shares in this book is great, in fact, far better than I estimated! I received this book from the sender in less than 5 days and in perfect condition!
