3 out of 5 stars Many receipes are not for gift giving.   November 14, 2009
MOMOF2 (West Michigan)
I was looking for a few good recipes for doggie treat gift bags. I found that many of the recipes had treats that needed to be refrigerated which would not work for a treat bag. I didn't even end up trying to make any.

5 out of 5 stars Great way to treat your beloved canine!   August 7, 2009

This book is great, as are the Bakeries. And surprise these are pretty much what humans make for themselves. All human grade ingredients, nothing but the best for our d-o-g-s. I am vegan but have had fun making these for my amazing Aussie Gracie. She just loves the recipes, always comes to me afterwards and says thank you with kisses all the while still licking her chops! Was hoping for a few more desserts like in the bakery but I guess they can't give away all the secrets eh?! I would definitely recommend this and will buy more as gifts for other fur kids moms and dads. Thanks Three Dog!

1 out of 5 stars Toxic ingredients! BAD book! BAD!   June 29, 2009

Lots of people-food-look-alikes with cutesy names (Poodle Noodles) instead of useful, tasty treats to pop in a pocket for canine rewards later. Worst of all, at least four recipes feature raisins, an ingredient TOXIC to dogs! Don't take my word for it, read about it at the aspca website. [...]

1 out of 5 stars Book has recipes containing raisins   May 2, 2009

It's pretty elementary knowledge that raisins are bad for dogs. This book advocates adding raisins to several of the recipes. Can't the writers do a little research first before endangering dogs like this? I bought this book through Amazon, so it was too late after I discovered this huge faux pas.

5 out of 5 stars Howled Out Loud   March 7, 2009

This book just cracked me up! Especially the illustrations, and the fact that Gracie is a Great Dane. The recipes are great, but knowing my 2 Great Danes, they would hold me hostage in the kitchen forever if I gave them these foods. I have one G.D. who has a weight problem, and is developing a food allergy as well, so have to watch what I give him. If you want to liven up your day get this book. Its written and illustrated very well. Also inspires us to look into the possiblity of cooking for our pets and not relying on what the Pet Food Industry puts in the food. I love this book, and hope to utilize it in my dog treat business.
