I had this book before, loaned it out and it went missing.I just got a Brittany pup, again, and wanted a refresher. It's a very good common sense approach to training although it is an early treatise.
Still worth a spot on the shelf as reference. Teaches good manners in an easily understood way.

it is a bit old in its methods such as "when your wife is in the kitchen cooking your dinner" comments. Also, he is a little more physical with his dog training than you will be, it is a good training book. Our dog was amazing!

Excellent book for training gun dogs or any dog in general. I would recommend this book for anyone wanting training advice from the novice to the expert. Very clear and sensical tips and training advice that is easy to follow and implement.

I used this book for my first dog and had excellent results.
I do not know why I got away from his methodes but now I am Back.
Yes its time conuming and can really try ones patience but it produces
a great dog.
