Puppy Whisperer not as good as I expected. November 2, 2009 Linda P (Wheaton, Illinois USA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This book has some good stuff in it but being a former dog owner, it was basics that I already knew. I was looking for a book with more substance, like Cesar's psychology...I actually was fooled by the title that it was a book of his. But I read it anyway and found that I disagreed on some training advice.
So for me it was just a 'reminder' book...nothing to gain knowledge.
Excellent resource for new puppy owners October 29, 2009 D. Sakurai (Los Angeles) An invaluable resource to help you train your puppy using humane and gentle methods. The advice is practical, easy to follow and effective. A great book to read before and after you get your puppy.

This is true 'Dog Whispering', a method to establish communication with your pet without relying on force and intimidation. The methods outlined here are applicable to everyone from the person who just wants a good dog to the competition trainer interested in performance.
Excellent guide for new puppy owners September 6, 2009 Banjo (Brisbane, Australia) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Very readable, and good introduction for new puppy owners with details of what to do in before you get a puppy and in the first day / days / weeks / months. Exactly what I was looking for.
Great book with great advice September 5, 2009 J. Crouch 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My wife and I were very pleased with the usefulness of the information in this book. Every training method recommended has work so for. I'm sure this will be the only book on the subject that we'll need.
