Great Product! September 11, 2009 Jo Swartout I just got this pet barrier yesterday and though it took me a bit to install, it looks great and it keeps my 60 lb Belgian Malinois in the back of my SUV no prob! I read other reviews voicing issues of noise and clanking from the barrier but I live on a dirt road and have found that this is definitely not a concern as the barrier is quiet and noiseless. All in all, awesome product!
Good but some issues September 10, 2009 D. Robinson (Salt Lake City, Ut) I will say that this is a great product except that the brackets that it uses don't stay tight for very long. It went together great without any problems. It might take a minute to size it up to the back seat area but went in easy. Over time the cheap plastic grips that hold the wings together began to easily loosen up and metal rods that support it from top to bottom bang around inside the cylinders.
I'm actually very happy with this product but only after i bought some rubber tubing that i split in half and laced in between the the gating and then used zip ties keep it together. Worked like a charm!! And the noises that the rods made in the cylinders you may ask...well i bought some foam tubing from home depot and shoved it up the hole. Problems solved!!
Much better than bar barrier July 21, 2009 A. Tate 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased this to replace the bar style barrier that I had. I love this one and wish I had replaced the barrier with this style earlier. It is so much quieter (really only making noise over gravel roads). Plus with this style my dog can't move the sides with his nose like the bar barriers, which means less drool on my seats and my son! Putting it together was a little cumbersome when it came to adding the panels- but mostly because I was doing it by myself and didn't want to remove my carseat so I was working with the seats upright.
Very versitile. July 7, 2009 Denise Fisher This fit great in my Jeep liberty and I'm sure it will fit in my future suv's as well since it can be adjusted.
Useful and affordable, but not perfect June 18, 2009 K. Hunt (Albuquerque, NM United States) We use this divider in a 2007 Subaru Forester to keep our two dogs separated. (They are not the best of friends.) I have also been told that it is safer (if you get in an accident) to keep your dog in a smaller, more confined space such as this provides. The assembly was fairly straightforward and didn't take too long with two people working together. Some of the wing nuts can get cross threaded if you aren't careful. My biggest complaint is that the long threaded bolts that run from floor to ceiling can get loose very easily and the whole thing rattles very loudly. I am constantly having to readjust this piece (at least once on every long trip). Fortunately, all it takes is a twist of the large wing nuts, but it's still kind of a pain.
