This is just right for my Pom except she is not heavy enough so that the seat folds a little.

My miniature dachshund HAS to sit on my lap whenever we go somewhere. I hate it and it makes driving more of a chore. I didnt think this would work, but the price was low enough for me to try. The review about the similar chihuahua really helped me decide. The first ride, she repeatedly tried to jump out, even with the collar attachment in place. However, after consistently putting her back in with a firm no..she finally realized I wasnt giving in. She gave up and sat the rest of the way. (This is the most stubborn dog in the world). The trip back was late at night and she learned she could actually lay down and cuddle up in it,which I think was a great step. I'm going to put one of her own pillows in the bottom, and I think we'll be golden. I'm so glad I took the chance. By the way,it looks exactly like it does in the picture, and is extremely easy to put in. Great buy.

4 out of 5 stars Pet Car Booster Seat for Small Dog   September 24, 2009

The box the seat came in had a red color seat on its cover; so I was excited that it came in red but wasn't given a choice, just black. Directions didn't do me any good, I had to ask a mechanic/co-worker to help me set it up in the car. Now that he set it up in the back seat, I moved it to the front seat & set the car seat as far back as it could. Dobie enjoys sitting closer to me. The plastic hook is good for hooking onto the dog's harness but my dog still tries to get up & out & ended up twisted around so I had to unravel all the belts before unhooking him out of the seat hook. The photo shows the seat pulled up, high & square; but once you wrap the harness around the headrest (at least in my car), it doesn't stand up square like the pic. Regardless of all my comments, I still like it, better than the cardboard box Dobie was sitting on & then i wrapped the leash around the door handle!

This puppy carseat is the only thing that has worked for my puppy. I tried various ways of carrying her in the car, but she either didn't like being closed inside a carrier, or she wanted to sit in my lap. I don't believe in driving with a dog in your lap, so this carseat was the perfect solution. She still wants to sit in my lap, but she is clipped in to the carseat by her little harness, so she can't get out of it. It is high enough that she can see out and she is safely snapped in so I don't worry about her flying out if I hit the brakes. I highly recommend this for a small dog.

It was exactly what I needed to get my dog from jumping back and forth from back seat to front, to under my feet. She is content sitting in it, I just wish the clip for the harness was a bit longer, you may need some type of extentsion piece. Seller sent item rapidly. Thanks!
