Our old cord retractable is still going strong after 12+ years. This new tape retractable is much safer and I liked it a lot, but the take ripped after about 5 months. Just not sturdy enough for a 40 lb. dog who pulls when she sees a cat!

I just got the Flexi 3 retractable tape leash from Amazon, and I must say, of the three retractable leashes I've ever owned, this one is hand's down the best one ever! Smooth operation, snappy to return, and gives great control of your dog while letting the dog have a bit of freedom too. I'd highly recommend this to any dog owner. We have 3 month old lab puppy and were using a regular leash up until I purchased this one. She would be tangled, trip over the leash, I'd have to get it out from underneath her. With the Flexi 3 retractable leash... I haven't had ANY of these problems. Again, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I have bought about 7 of these. I have a border collie and he has figured out that if he can get wrapped around an object (pole, post,ect..) and run with force the line will snap.Until that happens, its great, but after its a paper weight.
